He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Truth: We can offer empathy to others because of the troubles we face. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
